We’re thrilled to announce a groundbreaking partnership between NATIX and Over the Reality (OVER). Through this partnership, OVER is becoming more than a customer of NATIX data, as it enables us to reach physical AI faster than before by merging decentralized camera networks with cutting-edge spatial computing technology to redefine how autonomous systems perceive and navigate the physical world.
We are expanding the applications of what’s possible by focusing on building the “Internet of Cameras” and our edge detection solution. NATIX plays a pivotal role in both real-world data collection and enabling synthetic data generation. We started with map generation, and with VX360 we recently expanded to training/testing/validation of the autonomous driving stack. With this partnership, we unlock a new use-case in Physical AI – "machine perception." This shift enables the collection of high-quality street-level imagery and video data, making NATIX a key player in the rapidly expanding physical AI space.
NATIX's extensive visual dataset combined with OVER’s advanced Gaussian Splatting real-time rendering engine and AI-powered Visual Positioning System (VPS) technologies are used to reconstruct a three-dimensional representation of our world and lay the foundation for Physical AI — empowering autonomous vehicles, delivery robots, and AR/VR applications to understand and interact with their environments more intelligently than ever before.
NATIX’s “Internet of Cameras” ecosystem redefines how camera-generated data can transform the digital and physical worlds. As highlighted in Messari’s recent report, cameras are the “King of Sensors” and NATIX is at the forefront of harnessing this potential on a massive scale – as the world’s biggest decentralized camera infrastructure.
Our VX360 device, designed for Tesla DePIN drivers, captures 360° camera coverage and provides unparalleled visual data for mapping, autonomous systems, and next-gen positioning technologies. This data, combined with OVER’s spatial computing capabilities, forms the base layer of a new technological standard: Visual Positioning Systems (VPS).
A Visual Positioning System (VPS) allows machines to determine their exact position using visual data rather than relying solely on traditional technologies like GPS, especially in environments where GPS signals can fail, such as dense urban areas and indoors. Here's how it works:
For autonomous vehicles and robots, precise positioning, and freshly-updated imagery are critical for effective navigation, and visual positioning solutions to determine the exact position of elements in relation to fixed landmarks and other moving objects.
Why Not Just Use GPS? While technologies like RTK-based GPS offer high-precision data, they have limitations — such as signal interference in urban canyons or poor coverage indoors. Similarly, camera-based systems alone can struggle in fog or low visibility.
The ultimate solution? Sensor Fusion. Combining RTK, GPS, 360° camera data, LiDAR, and more, creates a robust and adaptive positioning system suitable for indoor and outdoor use, leaving no room for imagination.
The collaboration with OVER is just the beginning. NATIX is actively building a broader ecosystem where visual data fuels advancements in mapping, AR/VR, and Physical AI (i.e. autonomous cars and robots).
NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang recently emphasized the importance of Physical AI, describing a “three-computer solution” for autonomous objects: one for training AI models, one for edge deployment, and a digital twin for refining the AI in simulated environments. The decentralized network data generated by the VX360 and this partnership with OVER unlocks a wide range of use cases, from autonomous navigation to AR/VR applications and micro-mobility solutions. For example:
Scooter Management: Imagine a scooter parked incorrectly. With NATIX's camera network and OVER’s VPS technology, the vehicle’s exact location can be determined using a quick visual scan, preventing improper parking in urban areas. This is a pain point shared scooter companies face where they are forced to pay municipality fines for improperly parked scooters. In the example PoC below, you can see how precise VPS can be, and how it can solve the issue:
“OVER is more than just a data customer; they are a strategic partner in advancing Physical AI,” said Alireza Ghods, CEO and co-founder of NATIX. “By combining NATIX’s decentralized camera networks with OVER’s innovative spatial computing technology, we’re redefining how machines perceive and navigate the world, bringing us closer to a smarter, safer, and more connected future.”
This collaborative data system improves as more users contribute data. The more NATIX contributors map a road, the stronger and more accurate the VPS becomes—a truly decentralized, user-powered system.
The partnership with OVER transforms them from a data customer to a strategic partner that turbocharges our mission of achieving physical AI. NATIX is developing a broader ecosystem where camera data drives innovation, and through this partnership, spans across multiple industries. From spatial computing to advanced geospatial intelligence tools, our data empowers the next wave of mapping, autonomous cars, and robots.
“By bringing together two DePIN platforms with complementary geospatial data—OVER’s focus on high-traffic indoor and outdoor pedestrian locations and Natix’s extensive street-level imagery—we’re creating a powerful synergy,” said OVER CEO Davide Cuttini. “This collaboration leverages OVER’s cutting-edge AI geospatial pipeline to transform raw imagery into advanced spatial computing services. In the near future, the combined datasets will enable the training of foundational Large Geo-Spatial Models to further expand the joint downstream spatial computing services.”
Early tests of this collaboration yielded fantastic results that we plan to share in the future. This year will likely be the year when DePIN will take over. By merging real-world data collection with AR advancements, NATIX and OVER create a smarter, safer, and more connected future for autonomous machines and digital experiences. Expect further developments as we continue expanding our physical AI and AR/VR partnerships.
Stay tuned — the future of physical AI is being built today.
